Where magic is strong and sources of calcium somewhat lacking, I have observed a peculiar adaptation among the snails. They feed upon crystals and form their shells from them, creating geode style patterns. In doing so, they also grow to prodigious size. They are truly beautiful creatures if both somewhat slow and not too bright.
This specimen is somewhat smaller than the original purple one, but still a good 15+ centimetres in length.
