Hornwortle

The late summer rains bring much needed water to the wood, and the rivers swell once more. It is a busy time for another of the Magiscuri family, the Hornwortle, a freshwater dwelling, semiaquatic cousin of the Fernskin. Much like their kin, they sport long furry tails which make excellent camouflage for their habitat. While the Fernskin and Shimmerwing feed on mushrooms and nectar respectively, the Hornwortle is carnivorous, feeding mostly on fish and other pondlife. They nestle down among the weeds and pounce upon their prey with great speed and precision. They are sociable creatures, living in family groups and working together to build elaborate riverbank homes to settle in for the long winter, where their warm hearths are always open to other woodland inhabitants, seeking shelter from the coming frosts.

This one of a kind creature features a face and limbs hand sculpted from polymer clay, a plush fabric body and includes a wire armature so it can be posed. He stands approximately 20cm tall with a 35cm long tail

A wonderful addition to any magical home.
